This week’s GladiatHer to Watch hails from just up north in Montreal, Canada and she’s dangerous with a racket. Nineteen year-old Eugenie Bouchard grabbed the sports world’s attention with her surprising journey all the way to the semifinals of this year’s Australian Open. The 31st ranked WTA player (her ranking will likely rise to number 19 after her performance at the Aussie Open) is the only the 2nd Canadian to ever make it to the semifinals of a Grand Slam. In 2012, as a junior she won Wimbledon and was named the 2013 WTA Newcomer of the Year. Her good looks, personality and talent are setting her up to be the next hot thing on tour. Let’s see what 2014 brings for this star on the rise.
