With her rhinestone bedazzled leotard dawning a goat on it Simone Biles did not come to play! Just two weeks ago, the gymnast made history as the FIRST woman ever to land a Yurchenko Double Pike in a competition. She did not stop there! Biles likes to let her work speak for her and she meant it. She is now a seven time national champion and has more U.S. all around titles than any other woman in history. There is no doubt that her name can be mentioned along with the greatest of all times. From the 2013-2021, every time she has competed in the all around competition, she has won.
After winning, Biles got a chance to speak and said “It's really emotional, especially going into my second time doing an Olympic run. It's really crazy, and I appreciate everyone that's come out to watch and support us, especially after the year we've had.”
Biles also said, “I feel like I did try to enjoy it because it could be one of my last championships that I'll attend,” Biles said, per Olympics.com. “But it's also the road to Tokyo, and after this, we have trials, so we just have to really embrace the moment.”
“I feel like every single championship stands out for a different reason, but this one stands out specifically because it's the road to Tokyo,” Biles continued. “We came out here, and we did what we were supposed to.”
A trailblazer and game-changer, Biles is continuing to raise the bar and leaving her mark in the world of gymnastics. As she prepares for the Tokyo Olympics, Biles continues with her rigorous training until she takes centerstage again. Let's continue to celebrate Simone Biles and give her the flowers she deserves!
